A New Direction
CHINA (30 August 2007)—Asian pop celebrity Sun Ho gave an interview with a publication for the youth, Beijing Qing Nian Zhou Kan. In the article, the singer shared how she used to struggle with depression but with the help of her friends; she overcame it and found herself being more interested in helping others like herself.
Sun said that when she was first approached by a record company, she hesitated a long while as she was finding great satisfaction in counseling work. However, after the owner of the recording company told her, “As a counselor, you are able to save one life at a time, but as a singer, you are able to impact thousands of lives at once,” Sun decided to take the plunge. Today, singing and charity remain a priority to Sun and the singer expressed that she will continue to channel her royalties into more charity work.
The report also said that Sun is looking for a chance to discuss with her producers how she can contribute more on the production work of her English album. The owner of four fashion boutiques, Sun also admits that she is very particular about fashion, and ensures that what she sells in her shops are of high quality and up-to-date. On a personal note, the singer admits that she still prefers to be in tee-shirts and jeans.
The pop star is also fond of telling stories through song and performance, and cites the title track of her latest album “Embrace” as an example of a song painting a picture. Sun also expressed in the article that she is very honored to be named the Music Ambassador for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and hopes to use these open doors to reach more people in society. |
