Royalties And Charity
SINGAPORE (July 2007)—Local magazine LIME did an exclusive interview with international pop artiste Sun Ho on her extensive charity projects in Singapore and China. The article released some figures, stating how more than 50 percent of her royalties from her past albums went directly into funding humanitarian efforts.
With the construction of an orphanage underway, the singer has, to date, helped to build four schools in China. Sun said, “I want these kids to be people who are bold and full of dreams so when they’re older, they can make right choices for their lives … and go to the bigger cities [to chase their dreams].” With five Mandarin albums under her belt and a debut English album to be released soon, Sun is glad that her success in the entertainment industry enables her to continue her charitable causes.
Apart from her philanthropic work, Sun is also a successful entrepreneur, having just opened her fourth Skin Couture boutique in Singapore. The multi-talented Sun added that her secret lies in enjoying whatever she does. “I love shopping, clothes and fashion. I used to buy clothes for myself but now I’m buying clothes for everybody and you feel happy just imagining that person looking good wearing that outfit.” |
