Homegrown celebrity, Sun Ho, takes things in her stride as she chats with 8Days magazine about her latest work.

SINGAPORE (10 August 2006)—One of Singapore's premier entertainment magazine featured an insightful interview with local pop star Sun Ho, tracing her amazing journey from local to international stardom.

The Q&A-styled piece was littered with exciting information on the latest happenings surrounding her work in the US. After four major successful dance singles—two of which climbed to the top spot—the singer recounted the remarkable way in which her music had been the top choice for many DJ's and clubs around the country. Although no one except her producers knew of her Asian heritage, her song's frequent airplay propelled her into greater prominence in the American market.

At the same time, working with prominent personalities such as Diane Warren, The Underdogs, Desmond Child and Paul Oakenfold also enabled her to secure a sturdy reputation among the DJ's and clubs. Today, the singer estimates that she has a core group of almost 200,000 fans there. Yet, despite her increasing popularity in America, the artiste maintains that she will continue to cater to the Chinese music market as she wants to remain true to her Chinese roots.

Addressing the issue of her religious background, the singer was asked if she faced any conflict with the entertainment industry. But she replied that it was not a problem at all because she is confident of her personal values and stand on many matters.
