Helping School Dropouts
By Greenie Hsiao and Glynisia Yeo

SINGAPORE (6-7 August 2006)—Major career success has not deterred Mandarin pop singer, Sun Ho, from continuing her charitable efforts. Sun took the royalties from her first album and used it to set up a private school together with her friends. This educational institution aims to give school dropouts a second chance at their studies, something which the singer is very supportive of. Many of these students have excelled after retaking their exams and have moved on to good schools.

On another note, this school retains a rather bold and unconventional approach toward certain school rules whereby body piercing, funky hairdos or colored hair is allowed. Adopting an open concept, this move has, in turn, paved the way for many youth to have a second chance at their studies once again.
