Local pop artist, Sun Ho, gets listed among the who’s who of Singapore.
SINGAPORE (December 2005)—In the Singapore Book of Records Arts & Entertainment section, Sun was listed among the who’s who of the local music industry for her remarkable achievements in the West.
The publication honored Sun’s work in the entertainment scene by referring to her as the “First [Chinese] singer to top [the] American Billboard Dance Chart.” The glowing report highlighted her first English single, “Where Did Love Go,” which soared to the No. 1 position on the Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play Breakout Chart in 2003. Following that success, her subsequent singles, “One With You” and “Without Love” also became chart-topping hits in both the US and UK.
The feature also lauded other “firsts” in Sun’s music career: she was the “first Chinese pop singer to be invited to perform at the Hollywood Film Festival and to be invited to the 46 th Annual Grammy Awards,” and she was also the “first Chinese pop singer to be invited and asked to present at the American Dance Music Awards 2004.” |
